BBC A History of the World in 100 Objects
A History of the World is a unique partnership between the British Museum, the BBC and museums across the UK (including the George Marshall Medical Museum!). The BBC's local website across the country have partnered with their local museums and together are producing a list of 10 objects that tell a history of the world from the local area. These will feature on BBC local websites, as well as television and radio broadcasts during 2010 to coincide with the radio 4 series 'A History of the World in 100 Objects', which looks at the stories behind influential global objects from the British Museum.
Listeners and viewers can also suggest their own items that have a global or local story to tell and will be able to upload images and your stories behind the objects online. Together, we can build one of the biggest online museums in the world!
