Fundraising performance brings Worcester’s World War 2 nurses to life.
Nursing Lives, Vamos Theatre’s exciting new production, is coming to the George Marshall Medical Museum for a special fundraising performance to contribute to the Worcestershire Nurses’ League stained glass window campaign.
A story celebrating the life and loves of nurses at work and play during WW2, Nursing Lives was originally inspired by the paper archives found during the building works at the University of Worcester’s city centre campus (the former Worcester Royal Infirmary). For this special performance, the archives and a selection of historic nursing artefacts will be on display, with the Curator on hand to talk to the audience. Nursing Lives is funny, touching and at times harrowing, but always uplifting and will be unforgettable. It is designed to appeal to audiences of all ages.
The window, planned for the Jenny Lind chapel at the former Royal Infirmary, will create a beautiful memorial to the work of the nurses at the Infirmary. Many of the Nurses’ League members have volunteered for the George Marshall Medical Museum since it opened in 2002, and continue to support its work in numerous ways.
